18.2 for me, using regular 87 @ 2.99/gal today.

These are luxury sport sedans, they're not supposed to get stellar gas mileage.

On my way down to monterey, CA....about 120 miles from San Francisco, going ~65-70mph down hwy 1...I got ~30mpg. On any usual day/week, I will get about 19-21 mpg combined freeway/hwy.

Of course, hwy 1 looks like this...

12.5 litres per 100 ks thats about 21 mpg (us) mostly dual lane but traffic lights and also hills...the hills kill it i can quite easily hover around 10 l 100 ks even traffic lights only push into mid tens or low elevens, but the hills push it out to 12.5.......thats by the obc which isnt quite right according to mileage covered and ammount filled.....102 dollars the other day,$1 52 per litre for 91 ron

Around the same price here in UK Kai. About double the US prices.

Last time I mentioned this somebody went on about US being taxed elsewhere income tax etc...

erm do you think we dont get taxed senseless everywhere else as well??

NINTEEN ?!?!

how hard do you drive?! i get about 14L/100km in normal driving, goes as high as 16 if ALL of my driving is in traffic, and 17 if i add some regular thrashing to the mix

i filled up on saturday, and have done 2 freeway trips on the weekend and 3 days of peak hour traffic and i'm on 13.2L/100km

According to OBC I get 23/24mpg around town, and about 28mpg on a highway run at steady 70-80mph.

Thats in my 525i sport manual no air con.

Don't worry, that's normal for city driving - I'm getting about the same consumption in my M50 525i, mostly short routes around city.

I just converted the $2.99 / Gl U.S. (that Whit stated) into Canadian gas speak, and low and behold, its about par. For the first time (in my lifetime) we're paying the same for fuel.

The 91 525im gets 30+ at conservative speeds on the highway and @ 25 in mixed. We don't have any stop and go, only a handfull of lights on the way to my office that I can usually time.

At least we're not filling my bush truck (paid for by company). The chevy takes 100+L (26+ Gl) and gets at most 15 mpg.

And we're lucky on this side of the pond.....

I'd be lucky to average 21 MPG....more like 18-19 MPG... even with gas prices I punch it when I feel like it.... drive it like you stole it... Drive the E24 to the train and the E34 everywhere else since I still havent fixed the cluster on the 6...

For prices in MA I'm gettin 89 for about $3.20-3.30 and 93 for $3.30-3.35... highest I've seen was a station on crack selling 87 for$3.89!!!

My question is when do they start giving away the 6-8 MPG Hummers for free?

I just took a 550 mile road trip and was getting a solid 30 mpg running between 70 - 80 mph the whole way with the A/C on. Quite a bit of mountain driving too in WV and western MD. I average about 27mpg in my daily driving. Not too shabby for a car with 210k on the clock.

My gas flap says to use premium unleaded only, is this necessary?

I'm getting about 26 hwy 22 city. I pulled my eat chip out before I had to run a smog test, to see what kind of emission #'s I would get. Since then gas prices have been high and since I can run 89 octane with stock chip, I've left it in for now. Greg M.

Like I mentioned in the other post... I do have a 3.5 bar FPR so it's not really 25 mpg - but still a 30% increase over the hard driving I usually do. (http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?postid=92288)

- Robin

PS - so we should all just get like 300 bar FPR's and we'll get stellar gas mileage!!

That's not very good at all. In the worst of winter, in mixed driving, my 535 might turn in around 18-19. Straight hwy driving it would almost make 30 at speeds of ~60-70. Your car ought to do better than it's doing. How's your O2 sensor? Have you changed plugs lately, and gapped them a little wide? FWIW, the mileage my car turned in was with either the Autothority or EAT chip. As far as I could tell, in this respect they were about the same. Also, with the kind of mileage you have, especially with a manual trans, your AFM might be worn and out of calibration.

this is via the OBC, i start or reset it on the city cycle and stay to it. I think it's a bit high also, but I don't know. maybe i need a new 02 sensor. I get around 12 L/100kms on the highway. I don't trash the car that much, proably a few 1st gear near readline pulls every second time I get it. you can't push it hard in the city, speed limits are too low. there are two fuel trip readings they are in 0.2 of each other. I love the 80L fuel tank though, the reserve comes on when there's around 18L left in the fuel tank.

It finally happened... $115 to fill the tank!! :(

She's not a happy M30 either atm... 16 L/100km!!

Apparently... 16L/100km isn't too bad. Hmmm. I remember it being an average of 12-13 for the last few years.

I thought there must have been issues to be 'that' heavy, but reading other 3.5L owner's posts, its pretty reasonable.

yes nick my "city" driving is pretty easy......12.5L/100km
