sooo.... all things considered... where can we get one for the E34!

It may be a PITA, but I'd like to have one.

Yeah, it's supposed to lock when you use the key in the driver's door.

The standard gas cap lock is pretty weak. When I bought my car, the lock had been busted, if the door is forced open the lock arm breaks free of the motor. It easily snaps back into place, but of course snaps out next time the door is forced open...

What about one of those aftermarket caps, with the lock in the screw cap? I imagine gas caps are pretty standard, and you could find one at an auto supply place?

With gas prices the way they are at the moment, I'm tempted to siphon a few liters out of a strangers car... Already raided my parents lawnmower can.

EXACTLY.

I want a quality locking gas cap that fits these cars. If anyone knows specifically where to get one... let's hear it. ;)

they are available from Autobarn in Australia, price was over $30, cheap compared to loosing a tank of gas i suppose. didnt end up buying one as they had to order it in and i got a case of 'cant be fagged'.
