Should just be a swap from the E32 door panel. Personally, I think it'd look kind of silly, but to each his own.

INSANE!! I was speaking to a mate of mine less than an hour ago about this very topic!!

I went in a friend's E60 530i last night... They have little, low illumination orange LEDs that shine onto the door handles, rear seat armrest/cupholders, and the gear shift/ I-drive console. And its GREAT!! Beautiful, subtle mood lighting that illuminates key areas of use within the cockpit (gonna have to retrofit some to my door handle surrounds).

Thought chrome interior handles would work well with the mood light- door handle mod.

Shogun, the chrome mirror knob reminded me of something. Mine is missing and i need a new one, nothing else is chrome however and unless i am switching other things over to chrome i dont want a chrome mirror knob. Do you know of a place to purchase an OE mirror knob (just the knob that fits over the white plastic rod)

With the part number, BMA could probably get it for you. It probably wouldn't make sense unless it was ordered with other stuff to make the free shipping @ $50.00.

I kind of like the idea of some well done orange LEDs, but not any more chrome.

There's a new 1-series that lives near me, and when they unlock it, all exterior door handles are lit from behind. Pretty groovy huh?

My next car will be an E39, just for the mood lighting...

Orange Leds could be interesting. Perhaps under the dash in the front and behind your calves in the back seat.

I like chrome door handles (inside)... I'm sick of people going to get out of the car and not being able to find the handle cos its dark and the handle black- esp. in the back where they invariably find the ash trays instead and rip them out as they fumble in the dark... :(

I wouldn't be considering chrome if the stock handles weren't so cheap and plasticky. I wouldn't go nuts with the chrome, but a few touches here and there can be tasteful, I think.

Definately noooooo !

Chrome is so tacky. Far too bling bling, leave it for the pimps :p

Just rig some orange LEDs to illuminate the handles. Now, where did I read about that trick? Some website or other...
