I went to go pick up some sample parts for my company and came out to see my car got keyed. The first one is about 8in. long and the second one is about 10in. long. It's not that deep. I'm going to try using some rubbing compound to see if I could buff it out. If not then touch up paint it is.

I already started looking at some sites for touch up paint mentioned on this forum and would like to know if there is a certain procedure in doing so.

Thank you.

I'd check out the langka (I think that's how you spell it) process. The alternative is "paint leveler".

The idea is that you paint it rather thickly, let it set up a bit, then run over it with cloth, backed by a credit card or other flat plastic card, soaked in the leveler or langka or whatever, and gently level off the blob flush with the paint.
