Hope the rain stays away again this year! It will be good to see all the guys again, and meet some of the other board members that might make the trek. It's only about 350 miles round trip for me, I know some of you come farther, travel mercies to those that make the trip for the celebration of the E34.

Drive safe, have fun, enjoy....

I just MapQuested it. 2034.84 miles to the Chicago border (I think it's the border). Estimated time 29 hours 42 minutes. I think I'll have to make it another time. You guys have a good time!

I was seriously considering coming (like 70-30) but then I found out my head is cracked...so obviously I'm not gonna go on a 1500 mile trip. Sorry guys, hope you have a great time.

did you not just replace your head a short while ago? or is this WRT the head on the car previously.

Yes I did recently spend $3500 getting my head rebuilt. The car runs amazingly well. There is a (likely) a tiny crack somewhere in the head that only leaks when hot that is dripping coolant into the cylinders. It really really sucks. No overheating, no driveability issues. Just goopy, jelly'd oil.

So the shop will be pulling the head again. Anyone out there have or know where I can get a guaranteed solid head (just the casting, we're going to reuse everything off my existing head.)

Alan, I thought you were talking about your actual skull at first, glad to hear that is not the case.

As for the meet itself, I work til 6 and have expressed interest to do something later that day or Sunday if possible, anyone interested?

I plan to be there and trying to get fellow BMW brother to stop by.
Keep an eye out for the roundel and "E34" ... I printed some signs to help the out of towners ... I don't know where we will put them though ... we'll figure that out tomorrow ... see you then!
