Ok, lets see if anyone can problem shoot this one for me and offer any advice on repairs.

The "1. break light" flashes across the dashboard warning display. I checked the break lights and indeed the LEFT break light fails to light up when the break is pressed. I also noticed that the left break light does not light up when I arm the alarm (the RIGHT one does).

First, I tried changing the break light bulb. No luck. So...i'm thinking that maybe this problem is related in some way to how the car alarm specialists installed the alarm system (aftermarket) in my car. My guess is that it has to do with one of the wires (which one?) that attaches to the electrical wires going to the break lights.

I am hesistant about diving in head-first when doing any electrical repairs. I am not an electrician and I am not too familiar with after-market car alarms.

If anyone can offer me detailed advice on how i might go about resolving this problem that would be great (e.g. where the wire problem might be, whether it's a wiring issue at all).

Thanks!
