I just read online that BMW owner was taking off their chrome window trim, sandblasting it then having it painted black. Has anyone on this forum done that? If so, did you paint it yourself or have someone else do it?

:D

You can go with the trim-tape method, or you can read the steps I took to do mine with paint here (http://black.plague.org/bmw/shadowline.php).

Shaun,
I used the paint you suggested, taped the trim off , cleaned it then sanded, then cleaned but after it rained the paint has peeled off. What did I do wrong?
I used the etching primer first then the trim paint. Everything had a coupld of days to dry.
