Why is my car noisy?!

Okay- I am officially irritated. My 95 e34 m50 has a low squeak/whine from the front of the engine. It sounds like an unhappy pully, maybe the idler, but I can't seem to isolate the location. Its not belt noise, at least not any kind of belt noise I have ever heard. Anyone have any similar experience? Any thoughts? Its got a high enough pitch (like crickets) that I can't hear the valve clack... and I miss that sound-

Compressor clutch? Might just be a pulley. Try to shoot some oil into the bearing side of the pulley and see if it changes the noise.

It could be one the tensioners for the serpentine belt

Hmm...sounds like my car when my pullies went bad. I decided to replace all 3? and the tensioner.
