a rebuilt is more than i can afford at this time.

Actually, you should find one from an 325e, preferably the same year. There are some incompatibilities in that list (ETK doesn't list them). Plus, there's practically a part number succession every month for them.

So, be sure to get a picture of whatever compressor you intend to buy before purchasing so you can compare the high and low side fittings, unless you can confirm actual part number and application to the 325e.

Our 325is has a ND and it has been converted to 134. Compressor is weak. Need a rebuilt not another worn out. You may have better chance staying with r12. R12 costs have come down while 134 has gone up.

More important, what is wrong with your system. Problem is prob a bad evaporator if it has not already been replaced.
