So now that Walmart sells four tailed LEDs for automotive use less than $6, I'm looking to wire up a bunch. Optimally, they'll illuminate the footwells on entry, so I believe the interior lighting circuit is the answer. The question then is where to tap to be most convenient?

I would believe the mess of wires underneath the rear seat is the answer... but which one? Surely I don't want to run from the dome lights down to the footwells :)

So... Haynes says I'm looking for a BRVI wire to carry +

I tap this guy and only see ~3v? :|

Second attempt... :) Damn wires coming from the couteousy lights are BRN and RTBRN...

Anyone?

NB: only thread I found of marginal use is this: http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=8648&highlight=interior+wire
Maybe there is something in there I can use... but surely someone knows which to tap off hand? ;)

So in essence... I can take the power directly from the battery (with an inline fuse) and tap into the controlled BR/RT ground?

interior lights turn on, no mater if it's a open door request or a manual switch request.

I would consider highly unorthodox to use a feeder fuse different from F21, though will work.

Thanks Javier. I'll mull around the wiring and see what I can do. Everything is clearer now :)
