I am getting ready to go for this mod. Any more new tips from those who have done it? Have checked out E34net but looking for new fresh tips.

From the information I have seen on the etk, the 1995 525i, 530i and 540i all used the same bumper. It is is believed the factory modified the bumper for the duct installation when installed on the 95 540i. However, it may have been a dealer install in 1995. Even so, I think it was a factory install in 94 when the 540i first came out.

I think the '94 540i have the duct.. Here's mine, it had the ducts on it when i bought it a couple of months ago.

how well do you think those ducts would recieve paint? As in..are they paintable?

You think when it comes time to paint it, you would pain it all the way into the duckts, or just around the outsides?

Mine appear to be of some sort of dull plastic, so to answer your question I think they should be very "paintable".

I would assume you would paint before installation...
