http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/461000-461999/461741_15_full.jpg I want to have the M5 red needles on my 525i, I dont want to buy a M5 gauge sence it has problems if u place it on a 525i, so i just wanted to paint it red. So I was wondering if anyone did that to their e34 and how did it work. Did it look good at night when it was lit, and how was it to paint it and what paint. If u did this to your e34 or know how to do it please help. And do u have any photos?

id say you could goto the local hobbyshop and pickup some Tamiya brand clear red paint. ask a rep in there and he'll direct you to em. they come in little 2oz containers and you dont need much to just paint some needles. good luck

light is able to shine through the needles and ink. they light up red at night. no problem at all seeing them.

i didn't remove the steering wheel. i took the cluster apart behind the steering wheel, and did the needles from there.

Thanks for all of your help the gauges turned out great. And they do glow nice red at night. It was easy as 1,2,3. :D

I'd end up getting marker all over the place, probably look like my kid was lighting firecrackers while HE did it. i'm tryin to quit.

Looks good tho!
