Cooling Problems and such

I have a friend that has 1990 735il he blew several hoses, has brown sludge in the coolant, radiator went, water pump leaking now, what could the problem be?

Wrong coolant... Mixed Red and Green Cooland (DexaCool and Green Don't mix and work)

Neglect...

Now... if you mixed coolant.. have fun.. that stuff eats gaskets and and blocks...

Either way... your friend isn't in for a good time...
