pulled the intake and then the rear PCV plate to replace and one of them air bugles that go into the runners fell out...probably why it runs funny at times. Anyways it is from a center cylinder so its hard to get to. Any ideas? will the others break if I try to revove them to get my hand in there?

nevermind the bugles are in. will fire it up in a few and see if its any better with new gaskets and the bouncing bugle in place. Bet that thing really helps performance when it sits in front of another intake port.

little plastic air horn that the early v8 intakes had on each intake runner, i've not seen any fall off but most of the intake jobs i do are on later cars that didn't have them

I ran my 540 for months after buying it with 5 bugles bouncing around the intake!
And once I got a replacement with all 8 in place, I found no real difference!
I had no idea it was like that until my indy showed me during a PCV plate replacement!

I have a intake for sale without bugles if anyone wants it!

Jeff, let us know if you see a change!

Jeff, I heard you get better bottom-end torque if you replace the bugles with trombones. :p
