Questions about E39 sport models

Eventually, I plan on upgrading from my 1991 535i to an E39. I'd rather get one with the sport suspension so that I don't have to go through all the upgrades as I did on my 535i. What I'd like to know is what comes with the E39 sport package and how to identify one. Is it standard that the sport suspension comes with the style 5 wheels? Also , does the 3 spoke steering wheel replace the 4 spoke one in the sport model? Any other info would be appreciated.

oem "sport" isn't that sporty just so u know...

Early e39's came with a sport 'option' usually wheels , suspension, 3 spoke wheel, possibly seats fitted to SE models
Later models came designated 'sports' as an actual model ,priced just above the SE.
Exact differences come down to the patricular model and original owners spec.
