you will need hubcentric rings to avoid the shimmey, they are usually a couple bucks each

the e34 has a 72.4 mm hub and the e39 has a 74.1 mm (i think) hub, the tirerack sells the rings i can't remember the part # and they don't allways want to sell the rings from what i've herd, i beleve it depends on the person you get on the phone

Yes they'll fit. Call tirerack and order part A670 ($3 each). Get 8 or 12 of em while you're ordering b/c they bend very easy. Just be careful when you take your wheels off and put on b/c the gorillas and most tire shops bend the piss out of em if you don't do yourself. I have style 19s on my 95 540 btw.

just so you know the style 19 rim was originally made by BBS for Nardi, of steering wheel fame, but due to lackluster sales, BMW bought the inventory and applied it to the E39 as an OEM offering. It's a great wheel, and unlike the style 5 offered in USA, it is offered in a staggered fitment 8"-9", although finding a 9" rear is not easy ($900 option at time of purchase).....HTH, oh btw, try running 235/45-17 fronts and 265/40-17 rears as a 255 is kinda small in diameter, it was offered as a rear tire on E34 M5, but back then a 265/40 WASN'T made, now it is.
