I already talked to Scott on the phone, but I just want to repeat how sad I am to see one of the best looking 535s I know get totalled.

At least everybody walked away...

Yikes, out with the old and upgrading to M-class I see. Now, you have to start over with repairs and mods. Another new saga unfolding. Sadly missed 535iM for sure but least least you are staying with E34 platform ?. I hope so.

Loosing a car by selling it, or totaling it is sad either way. Lots of good times were had, and there will be more to come. We share your grief, and at the same time look forward to you pulling up in my driveway in your ///M5 soon.
I'm sooooo glad you're alright.

....Train Wreck. Great to hear that another E34 driver comes through a fairly intense (!) accident with only memories and maybe a lesson or two learned. From the looks of the photos, there seem to be many good parts. The T-Stars....at least the one we see....looks OK. Maybe some of those parts will let your 535 live on a little in someone else's car. Good luck with the M-search! :D

Scott, your not going to give up easily are you? You look good in an E34! I'm glad you came out OK and only the beast was hurt. If you find any leads around Michigan I will do some research for you!

Good luck my friend.

Really sorry to see that Scott. Seeing your mods within all that bent metal creeped me out since I have those same Hella ballasts wired into euro-ellips and,t-stars and a Kmac kit. More important than anything is that you're still walking and talking and healthy.

So sad. When you called with the news this morning I was in shock. I remember when you had no mods to the car, just the stereo system. Great memories. I guess you will just have to make new ones with the new e34. Gotta love those T-stars.

I really appreciate the thoughts. JR always finds a picture and a comment to help the mood. ;) Everyone in the accident was just fine.....it was a morning mix up on the way to the train station. I will descirbe the accident later.

I will keep everyone updated on what happens with the car, and post more about the accident. For now I have to continue on with my plans to buy what looks to be a nice/clean 1991 M5. I have to make the drive from chicago to minneapolis on Friday, but today I need to go to the bank, insurance co, and title co, then get my rental car for the 6 hour drive....

thanks again.....you guys are great.

Scotty,

I forgot to tell you, I have a flight to MN this afternoon and I am taking cash with me. I am gonna swoop in and buy an M5, some '91 pampered version with 8XK miles. It would be a service to you since you are getting married and need to buy a Minivan :D

Glad you and all parties involved made it out OK. Besides, you needed a paint job so it was time to move on. At least this didn't happen 2+ weeks ago.

Best,
Rory

Scott...
Sorry to hear about your accident mate!!!
Other than your ego (and wallet???) being bruised, it appears that you and Jill are all in one piece and unhurt! Thank the Lord for that...!

Well, good luck with the M5...I hope it turns out to be a great car for you!

I see the vultures are circling for "pieces parts" off the car so I will have first dibs on the clear corners if they are in good shape :D :D

All the best....

Nothing lasts forever, even E34s can die ;). Really sorry to hear about your loss, but more important everyone is alright. Your loss could be our gain, let us know when you gonna start parting it out. There are bimmers out there that need organ donors :)

Sorry to hear that Scott, that's a shame. if you need anything, let me know; you were a huge help after my "incident" a few years back (as I remember, you even considered putting a certain car up for sale and checked to see if I was interested ;) )
