Last fall I had allowed my beloved E34 to fall into disrepair.

Bruno (www.racingking.net , www.bmwe34.net) tought me to love my E34 again! It was lowered, the front end rebuilt, valves adjusted, brakes done, new headlights installed, all fluids changed to redline (hey, I have 1st gear again!) and new wheels and tires were added. This was all done in a 24 hour blitzkrieg of work!!

THANKS BRUNO !!!!

This work was actually done last fall - I promised him I would post some pictures. Winter in Canada is not kind to cars, so I waited until now to take some snaps.

Next up is some paint, a freshened interior, and a very light tint on the windows. (thoughts on how heavy to go?)

Although I've been on the board for a few years, these are the first pictures my car I've ever posted.

Canadian cars come with rear headrests. Must be the law or something.

I have a set in my car - was poached from a federalized Canadian car that Martin and I salvaged.

Don't think it was ever a US option.

Thanks guys!

Paul - the wheels are style 5's, but the rears are 9" with 255 / 40 / zr17 and the front are 8" with 235 / 45 / zr17.

Brian - the headrests thankfully came with the car. Guess it's a Canadian thing eh.

Hmm... I guess I will have to head north with a slim jim and a black ski mask... Do you think the stealers up there sell them?

I'll keep my eyes open... if I see a parts car somewhere I'll try to hook you up.

i was sitting in the back of my car examining my sagging headliner and was thinking what about getting front headrests and putting them in the back... any thoughts? block too much of the rear view? funny looking? has it been done?

You can look it up on ETK, but here's the general list:

- rear headrests themselves (no, the front ones don't work)
- rear headrest mounting brackets. All E34's have the bracket holes so you can simply bolt in the brackets.
- A rear seat cushion with holes punched (and finished) for the rear headrests.

I think it's quite possible to modify your current cushion but it would involve cutting the leather and installing some plastic trim parts. Simpler to just get a good back cushion and swap it in...if you can find one in the right color.

I think it took all of 45 minutes or so to install the ones that I had.

Style 5 9" rear wheel......can you say rare? Those are like finding a diamond in the rough. Congrats!!!! The only thing more rare than that wheel is the 18" style 5 off of an E38 sport. I tip my hat to the gentleman from Canada, ayyyy.

...Saw one of the latter on eBay a week or so ago -- went for $150+/-, brand new.
