Love the filters you used. Very beautiful car as well! I'm looking foreward to getting my Canon EOS Mark II.

Enjoy the ride!

Which one, 1D or 1Ds? 1D is relatively affordable now. In the family we have a D70, D100 and my Rebel 300D w/ L lens. I really love canon color.

Nice job. Re filters, are you using a screw on, in camera or PC digital processing?

Post processing mostly. The only lens filters i use are ND and circular polarizers.

you must have wax comin out your @ss, to put it crudely. my "wax" ritual consists of washing the car three times, and putting as many coats of wax on it as i can before i grow sick of it, and hoping that it lasts longer than 6 months, so i only have to do it once every six months.......

I just bought a Pentax *ist DS. Very happy with it though I'm looking for some K-Mount Pentax Takumar SMC prime lenses which are now insanely expensive S/H.

Pentax *ist (there is so much debate on how to even say the name) is a good camera and all, I just don't like the lenses available. I am a Canon guy though my mother and sister are both Nikon D70 and Nikon D100 fans.

The Pentax uses the same CCD sensor as the Nikon D70.
It bought it Australia with the kit lens which was a Sigma 18-125mm/F3.5-5.6.
It's an okay general purpose zoom with a useful range, but as you are aware zooms are a compromise for both sharpness & distortion & speed throughout their focal length. Considering it was only $150 more than buying the body only what can you expect? But for general snaps it's okay. As I prefer taking landscapes, portraits and often low level available light shots so I'm looking around for some older K-mount Pentax Takumar prime lenses. 50mm (equiv to 75mm) for portraits and a 35mm (equiv to 50mm) for 'stitched' panoramic landscapes. The Pentax SMC Takumars are considered some of the best lens ever made. Even 30 year old ones! I did consider the D70 as I have a Nikon FE2 35mm & Nikkor 50mm/1.4 and a very nice Nikkor 85mm/F2 but the D70 was just too cumbersome for me and I hated the viewfinder. Still, camera are like cars. If we followed our car philosophy we should all be using Leicas and poo pooing Japanese cameras as 'rice snappers'! :p

BTW I notice you have a large zoom, flash and battery grip fitted to you EOS300, but you sisters D70 has no such 'enhancements'.
Isn't that bit like fitting M-Parallels & a M-Tech bodykit to you car and comparing it with a stock version?... "Mines spunkier than yours!!" :D

the 1Ds, looking to buy one this week. I've currently only have a Canon D10, but around 50K in lenses.

It sort of is.... but it reinstates why I have Canon. I was able to afford the body, flash, battery grip, 70-200mm L USM lens, prime lens, kit lens, filters and memory... meanwhile she has no battery grip for her camera. She intends to get a 24-80mm VR lens, but again, its retardedly expensive when compared to Canon lenses of same quality.
