when I had my eat chip in I got almost 4 more MPG which made it well worth the extra in costs for primium. Figure the costs and then make the decision. I would rather have the eat and use premium than the stocker and mid grade for 4 cents less. there is no comparison to me.

I usually figured it out at 2 to 3 more mpg with the EAT chip.

i got two or three also. gas is up to around $2.00/gallon in northeast ny, so i'm trying to keep the driving to a minimum.....

bottom line is that i'm not willing to go back to stock!!! thanks again mark!

still can find 93 for $1.72 here, but you pass a lot of $1.79 stations. just tanked up the 535 tonight, $33+ fill up sucks

my increase in MPG was 1-2.. i do alot of driving, i get comped from work.. when i drive, i drive hard.. the 535 has good power without the chip.. so no real downer.. hopefully for only a short period of time.

If you can keep your foot out of it you can enjoy the additional MPG. :) I need that chip on some of the ride to work (idiotic NC dot and their cloverleaf ramps that overlap...come to a stop, cross one section going one way then another going another way before it's a balls to the wall fight to get in the only lanes that don't end).

Still running 23/24 all around, highway trips are up towards 27.

Let's put things in prospective. I just bought a '97 land cruiser because I needed the hauling capabilities due to major house remodeling (got sick and tired of hauling crap in the 5er). I just filled up last night and figured that I got a whopping 14 MPG with most of those miles on highway. The LC is rated at 13-15 (city/HW cycle). On the other hand I use the 5er (with the EAT) to commute daily to downtown Chicago. I get about 16.5 MPG in the city whereas highway yields about 22.5. Although I use regular in the LC, it still holds 25 gals=$45 per fill.

Prices here are around 92c /L or $1/L for premium (98 octane). So at A$80 a tank, it would be around US$66.
Now you can smile again.

wah wah wah. If you had a car payment for a 1997-2004 5 series you'd be gassing up a $600 a month nut, plus insurance.

I'm sure most of you, like me, own your car outright...the money you save by driving a late model should keep you happy enough to pay for premium and keep it in s mode. Just think about that on the 1st or the 15th when a nasty assed car pmt would be due. At least if you are financing, it's only about 3 hundy's a mo.

Austin, TX gas is around $1.72-9 for premium if you hunt for it, $1.90 at the shell by the house.

I drive the sh*t out of my car. Just blasted to cotulla and back this weekend...over 420 miles in two days to go quail hunting.

If someone has some way to host it, I have an 15 second mpeg of me doing 111mph on FM 97 between Charlotte and Jourdanton.

cheers

How sad for you In Sweden, Europa the price for one liter gas is 1,2us$, and one gallon is I belive 4,6liters so you do the math. You americans spends to much oil and gasoline, and if you thing about it it isīnt strange IRAK had "Mass destructive vepons", the only thing he had was oil!!!!

Shades of the seventies! Heard it all then, hearing it again now. Everyone knows what the solution is but we lack the political fortitude to implement the hard decisions required.

Paid $1.73/gallon of premium today in Cheyenne, Wy. Averaged 23.5 mpg on that trip, which I thought was good considering I was running 75-90mph for about 3 hours at this altitude (~5000') -EAT chip is staying in. Premium here in Denver is $1.78/gallon.

You guys get the cheapest gas in the world... It's just over half the price we pay in New Zealand. Don't forget the Europe where they pay at least three times US prices. And when you figure in mean incomes, GDP etc.... well you get the picture.

no, that's not my driveshaft - that's me wondering why a 'quick reply' when I'm looking at Brian's post does not get entered under Brian's post......

anyhow..... I'm STILL not a big time poster, so I guess I'm still getting used to things......

blah....so i got it slightly wrong

Homer hitch-hikes to Crazy Vlaclav's Place of Automobiles and tries a
sub-mini-compact.

She'll go 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene...shift into L

single litres is funnier tho.

second largest reserve of oil in the world current estimates are that Iraq has at least 15% of the worlds reserves.. And a number of oil experts now are thinking that they may actually have the world largest reserves there, greater than the current number one Saudi Arabia. And of even greater importance is the fact that Iraq's oil reserves are fairly close to the surface making extraction much easier. I wish some of you guys would do a little research and get your facts straight. (hint, research does not mean turning on the foxchannel)

These guys must listen to Bill O'Reilly exclusively. Of course, he isn't a right winger - just ask him. His "Nothing but spin-zone" is one of the funniest shows on Fox.
