Interior lights

When i get in my 525i at night and use the interior lights, normally when you switch the ignition on or when you lock the car the lights should go out. Now they stay on all the time. Any ideas?????

Do they (lights) turn off by themselves after a wile? If so, probably a door jamb switch (or related issue). In this case, Anti-theft should also be acting weird.

Are they on all of the time, even while driving? My wife used the overhead dome light once, and moved the switch position to turn the light on.

Freaked me out before I realized that the switch was moved.

the middle light above the rear view mirror, should have its switch pressed in (closest to the windshield). It's position #1 in the pic from the owners manual in attached image.
