issue and whether there was any documentation in the TIS for it (the mechanic he's taking his car to has never heard of it). I only found one of the ones he was talking about. Perhaps because bmw's solution was a complete rebuild? i'm sure he'd be appreciative if you could take a look, as you are far better at it than i am.

I think the A clutch is the first basket behind the trans pump ie: the first one they see. There is several write ups on this, some I believe were posted last week. Even Winfred had a decent one a year or so ago.

last week, this is it.

It is a document that deserves to be well keep.

I'm trying to gather all info available, for next Monday meeting with the shop, still missing Official BMW documents on the issue. The shop does not seem to be aware of this issue (this bothers me a lot) though they seem very knowledgeable on this transmissions.

I'm sure I have enough unofficial info on the issue based on Winfred and Shogun replays to my post, but would like to have also some official BMW document.

early e23,24,28 models back around 1986.. They show the fix then , they haven't published any bulletins covering this failure on the newer transmission.
