rapid turning signal

while attempting to change lanes i notice a rapid flickering of the turning signal. this only happens with the left signal. the right is normal. what to do?

You may have a blown globe or the wrong wattage. That can effect the flash rate.

My wife's Volvos did this all the time when the relays went south.

That's happened to me before. I had a blown out bulb. Park your car, turn on you hazard lights, then walk around the car and check it out.

Most of the cars i have worked on, this is the symptom of an earth fault on the indicator light.
