oil pressure woes

Hi i think i've got the usual E34(E32 ?) problem where the valve in the oil cannister leaks the oil back down to the sump over night so it takes 10-20 seconds for the oil light to go out,not good !

The question is does the oil canister from an E28 535 fit my engine and do they suffer the same problem ?
