The gold look really wasn't doing it for me. 8 hours and $40 later here is the finished product:

I ended up using the Duplicolor wheel paint. We will see how long it holds up.

get some close ups of them wheels. Definetly not your average basketweave wheel!

they are BBS RA - one piece wheels, cheaper cousins to the BBS RS. I got em for $25 each. Not a bad deal.

Did you polish the dish on the wheels or did you get it done? INFO

The wheels came polished. All I did was clean up some road debris that was imbedded in the clear. They are not as high a polish as I would like, but when the clear goes to pot I will strip it and re do it.

That or find a set of Style 5 17" ready to go !

your buggin for them 5's.... They look real sweet but right now after lookin at your car yours arent the average basketweave either. That polished edge gives them justice.

Much better! I never really understood the deal with the gold colored rims, I guess people had different taste buds in the early 90s.

I had some family friends that had an early e30 325e. It was red and had the gold bbs wheels on it - at the time I thought it looked good. I think since the advent of the gold packages on the cadillacs and lexus high end cars - that gold wheels have just lost their general appeal on the euro stuff.
