m20 engine and K&N filters

has anyone installed K&N cone type filters with m20 engines?

is there enough space to place it once the stock box is removed? (i think so but im just making sure :p )

does it do anything good? (besides the cool sound & the looks of it) or is it simply a waste of money?

if your going with the cone type air filter, make sure the filer is in a enclosed compartment that the hot air from the engine bay won't reach.
