Auto trans replacement options .

Hi all , I've got a '91 525 in need of a auto trans and I have access to a '95 M3 auto trans .
Will that E36 M3 trans work with my 525 ?

I have read (while searching) that the non Vanos cars cannot use a trans from a later Vanos car , is this the case ?

Basically I'd like to know what other car other than a first year M50 E34 can I look at for a replacement .

i have one for sale came out of a 525 non vanos i've enclosed pic of trans and torque convertor 500.00 w torque convertor 100.00 for computer

I'm really trying to locate one in my area though as I don't want to deal with getting one shipped in .

Once I know what I can use then it will greatly speed up my locating one .
