Buying New Head Unit, Can I keep the CDX-M30?

Hello Im going to be upgrading to a Satellite ready head unit ( so far looking at Alpine 7861 ).. I am wondering if anybody has had any success finding an adapter for the old CDX-M30 that would allow me to use it. But with a newer head unit?

I really like the Nakamichi but its out of my price range.. If anybody has found an aesthetically pleasing head unit for the e34 please reply to this thread!!
