I have a 95 Touring E34 and wondering of the E46 Sports steering wheel will fit ?. The one with airbag and no multifunction controls : 3 spoke design.

The Touring four spoke is looking very tired, I got 2 options: Re-bound the leather or replace it. If I do replace it, it will be a different one. Hoping the nice wheel on newer models will fit.

My older 89 E34 sedan wheel fits all E30, E28 and even an E31 850 wheel! Yeah, a german friend gave me one, its heavy and chunky, fits and works well. Now, I am using E28 M 3 spoke wheel on the E34 M20. Minimalistic simple and light.

Advise appreciated.

Bump!. Nobody ?.

I can offer some info. For older E34 from 88 to 90, all E28, E30, E31 wheels fits. I tried them all!.

My Touring 95 model seems to have a different fitment. The equivalent E34 M5 from 91 onwards fits the E36 M3 97 wheel. (from the M5 board) I figures my 95 has this same fitment. I have not removed the wheel to check, I will if I could find a suitable wheel that I could potential replace the stock wheel which is looking very tired!. Badly worn leather wrapping and rubber lower support covers warped by the heat!.

Any ideas, E46 steering wheels will fit a E34 95 model ?. :D

There has been alot of doubt whether or not this would work, but i think JonK just recently put the mutlifunction 3 spoke wheel from an e46 on his and it works, and looks great, its a recent post, check out the pics

Thanks BJ,

I have strong suspicions it will work. But very few people have even tried. Do you have the link to JonK's site ?.
Jon: Any comments on that E46 Multifunctional wheel on either 97 E36 or 95 E34. Seems to have same fitment. I loved the E46 3 spoke Sports wheel!
