Gents,

There are lots of debate at our local CCP club forums regarding single or double vanos.

My feeling is Single. As I am pretty sure Double Vanos starts with M54 engines that only appeared in E39 from 99 onwards. Any resident experts in this to comment. And also now does one spot a single vanos or double vanos bulge in the front side of the engine ?.

:( Clarification would be helpful to prevent disconceptions about type of engine.

Thanks.

Yo, one point for the Grand Master!.

Now the Euro 323i uses M52TU for 97/98 model. I believe they are Single Vanos as well, right ?.

M50 = No VANOS
M50TU = Single VANOS
M52 = Single VANOS
M52TU = Double VANOS
M54 = Double VANOS

TU = Technical Update

Hey there Interceptor. I have it as u have it. Our country generally specs according to Euroupean spec. I am 100% sure the M50tu is single vanos. No 50 was made with double.

Moto and Interceptor,

Thanks. Yes, M50TU definitely single vanos. Good to know that M52TU is double. Guys, I ready that the 2005 Audi A6 just had the equivalent of single vanos in the intake. How surprising after a DECADE of introduction by BMW that Inglostat starts to introduce it!. Bravo Munich!.
