Who do these folks think they are kidding ? Be careful what you buy on ebay... A Dinan chip for $90? 43 HP for $90? 21 lb/ft of torque for $ 90? A rev limit of 6800 rpm ? Give me a break.. don't get burned guys... I know each mod for my car is thought out in great detail' cuz to be honest I just don't have the money to throw away... Checked with a local BMW Tuner/Dealer www.concordmotorsports.com (http://concordmotorsports.com) and they said this add http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7962033231&category=33597&sspagename=WDVW is a joke... you get what you pay for... I'm just wondering if anybody out there has been burned ....

43hp/21l/ft are probably at two very specific and unusable RPM spots. You probably know this already, and I completely agree with everything you've said.

When I shark my car, I'm getting an EAT. All of my friends on bimmer.info say it's the best, and who can argue with that lot? :)

I have a Dinan chip and it wasn't $90 :) It'd be interesting to find out what you end up with for your money...

The numbers they have listed in the auction are valid if it is a Dinan or Jim C. chip. Mark D. does not publish his figures on his website otherwise I would quote his as well. I assume he has comparable gains to Dinan or Jim C. Check out the following links for the rating on the M30 which is quite a tunable engine.

I sent the seller this question.. I'll keep you posted if(big if) he replies
"What kind of proof can you provide that this is a genuine Dinan Chip... I ask only because there are no chips on the Dinan website that match the gains that you are advertising, just curious...If you don't reply I'll know NOT to buy from you ...." stand by

I ask only because there are no chips on the Dinan website that match the gains that you are advertising...except the Dinan chip DOES advertise the same gains he is advertising.

As has been said, the gains are similar to most chips for the 535. That's how it works with this car.

He's probably just duplicating Dinan's software with his own PROMs. Welcome to eBay.

actually no they don't match up, besides.. do you really think he has and actual"Dinan" chip for sale? The image he has posted is that of a chip with the Dinan logo on it ... for $90.00 ??? LOL you buy it and let me know how it works out for you ...

Thats a mighty big "IF" .. yes i have copied CD's before, but to that end I have never tried to sell them under a copyrighted name on ebay either ... Its one think to "copy" as you put it.. quite another to advertise it as somebodyelses equipment .. wonder how the the folks at Dinan would feel about this ?

the Dinan folks would SUE but by time the case comes around the sellers gone, hard to track etc. It's becoming a strange place out there online. People want the government to come in and protect them when they get scammed but in the same breath they dont want their email or computer to be read by big brother. To blatently claim its a name brand is BS and they should go to hell but in reality the internet is self controlling at this time, report them to Ebay and shut them down for the time being. To bring this to the front you either buy and try or read and compare and so thats life. Stamps are 37¢ how much willemails be and forums? Someone found an opportunity and grabbed it, infringement definetly, but resourceful too.

The part number is for an old Canadian chip. It makes a little less torque.

I am *really* attempted to "buy" one of his chips just to leave a note on his feedback on how it's blatantly cooked (note auctions ending with BIN one or two minutes after opening, and then the buyer leaving pos feedback a few minutes after that).

But then again, if you're stupid enough to buy a "dinan" chip at a bargain price from a guy who has little feedback and doesn't accept PayPal, you probably deserve what's comin to ya.
