I have tried everything that you all have posted about getting it off. I did notice that rear shocks are Sachs already???? I have tried Prying, hammering, lubing, lubing, lubing, hammering, prying, heating, prying, hammering, lubing...... I don't think I missed anything?

I am going to get air tools right now, any other help?

Thank you all for the information on the installation on the Sachs kit. Great right up in that thread.

Carry on with the brute force, the lower shock becomes frozen in rust in the swing arm. When it finally comes out, remember to install the new parts with lots of anti-seize for the next time.

Try PB Blaster or Kroil and heat the outer casting with a propane torch & bang on it a few more times. I'm assuming you have the bolt out and cannot get the sleeve on the lower end of the shock out of the casting socket:

Lol...dude...you've got to read my writeup on the sachs install if you haven't done so already: http://www.statch.com/users/wlowel/e34suspension.pdf

Sachs/Boge is OEM, as such the rear "boge tourings" will have a sachs label on them.

Use PB Blaster, antiseize, and threadlocker where necessary.

Rather than banging away, which I did for quite a while to no avail, I rigged up a means of gently pulling it off. Below should be a depiction of the set-up. The red bit is a 1/4 inch socket drive extension (@4") inserted into the bolt hole to take up space and allow the puller to do its thing. Of course, coat the thing in some easy off lube and it should move for you.

Check out that rust. Probably whats got you stuck as well.
