Transmission Help

Hello,

I have a 89 530i UK spec, the transmission was leaking big time, it its parked now. A buddy of mine has a 90 520i also UK spec with no engine, and his tranny seems to be ok. Was wondering if anyone knew if the Transmission is the same between the 2 cars, the cars are at not near me so i cannot check the plate on the transmission myself. if anyone knows that would be a great help.oh yea they are both automatics.

i think the bolt patters are different, Fix the leak and call it a day. if your lucky its the pan gasket or something simple.

I looked at both transmissions today, they both have the 4hp22 stamp. will they still have different bolt patterns? if so can the tranny still be swaped but keep the bolt plate from the orginal?
