Alarm System & Power Door Locks...

Had a Matrix 2.2X alarm system installed in my 98 535i today. Was informed by the installer that I should NEVER EVER push the lock button on the remote before closing all the doors -- something about damaging the lock system. Now I do that all the time with my 98 Passat (push lock then close the doors). What's different here?

After. Something to do with the double locking mechanism or deadbolting or something...

Actually... he mentioned it before the install and reinforced the fact afterwards as well.
