I took my new baby(89 535i) out for a spin on the freeway and was having fun, after I stoped for a strech I noticed my head light was smashed!!!
I'm gutted :(

I looked on the how to fix page and it does not make much sense to me.

How hard is it for a newbe like me to replace it ??

Look at the online ETK. See main page.
What means smashed anyway?
Glass only?
All in the archives for this little problem.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed yor spin ;-)
Just relax man, no worry to fix such thing.

Hi there I tryed to take out the light by myself but could not do it.
So I took it around to a mates 3.5hrs later we get the whole light out!

Can I replace the glass or do I have to replace the whole light??
The shop's are shut today.
Cheers

Here is an option you might want to look into. I've just replaced my fog light lens from them. Don't know the long term effect, but the price is right.

I'm not sure where you are, but for the next time get your local auto elect to price the Hella replacement, as it should be now listed. Auto wrecker in Sydney wanted $100 plus shipping, new one was $108.
Not an easy job unless you have done it before! I broke one of the clips getting my old lens out. Hot glue for now.

The adjuster screw is available from the dealer and costs only a few $, as far as I remember only abt. 2-3 US $. Look into the online spare parts catalog. Also buy the plastic clips for that. They break easily, also small amount to pay for.
