Imo a bit too modern for the e34's classical lines.
Style 5 and M-parallels are the way to go. :)

they look like kerb rash specials, straight to the spokes.......I think the e34 looks best with the 5 t stars or some other 5,6 or 7 spoke designs,(ie style 10).However Kriss its your car
style 10s

theres a e34 running around here with those on it and i am not impressed, they don't really match the lines of the car, but you may like it

I have these.. but they're 18's..

check out my cardomain site. http://www.cardomain.com/id/incantation

the pics don't really do the rims justice.. but when the car is parked i often see people standing on the sidewalk looking at the wheels.. and many times i have been asked where i got them etc. they really do make the car look original and more modern.

the lines on them are nice.. the body of the e34 is both round and rigid.. and that's the same for the rims.. they're rigid and rounded too.. so it works. they look especially good spinning..

you could also opt for the m-parallel. they look good but everyone and their dog has them. or you could opt for the racing dynamics 5-spoke which is a classic wheel, however the e34 version comes with a re-inforced lip which looks crappy compared to the version with 10" in the back that has just a smooth rounded surface to which the spokes are joined. (as with the car below)

these won't fit on a stock setup.. when i took these off my 850 i had to shave about 1/4inch off a 1/4inch part of the control arm in the back to make them fit.. which a fabricator friend of mine said would be structurally sound. the wheels are too big though.

i think the hamann hm-2 are also a good choice.

check out this site if you wanna size on a few wheels:

and if you want more pics, email me.

Your car looks sweet. What kind of side skirts and front bumper cover are those?

Hi Kriss,

Checkout this wheel supplier in Melbourne.

Motorsport Wheels (http://www.mswt.com.au/products.asp?index=BMW+FITMENT+ALLOYS)

I think the later BMW style wheels don't generally suit earlier models... but each to their own. I suppose it depends on whether or not you like the 'Bangle Look'. IMO 'M-Parallels' on an E34 are the 'Duck's Guts'... BUT they are 18"s and depending on your suspension setup, road conditions and driving style 18's will, to some extent, compromise the ride. If you have worn suspension components, or not well sorted quality, aftermarket springs & shocks (ie Koni's etc) and poor roads (you live in Sydney afterall) then maybe that rules out M-Parallels. As for being common, they maybe in the U.S. but I have never seen an E34 on the road over here fitted with them so I wouldn't be concerned about that. In the end it's your car so choose to fit what you like. ;)

Here's an earlier post I made re. M-Parallels (http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=9245)

Thanks. The front bumper is stock but it has these stupid splitters attached to it (PO).

The side skirts are made by Rieger.

Kriss, I think those wheels do look quite good on the E60.

I think it depends on what you would like to do with the looks of your car. If you would like to make it "stand out a little bit", then the wheels might work...I tend to feel, however, that an 18" with so much visible material fills the wheelwell in sort of a "visually heavy" manner. If I were going 18", I'd go with the M-parallels...a beautiful, and in my mind perfect 18" wheel to complement the E34's classic lines.

If you want to complement the E34's classic lines, I firmly believe that it's hard to do better than with a set of 17" Style 5's or M-Tech Throwing Stars...5's for the classic, sophisticated look and T-stars for the sportier flavour.

In the end, it's your choice, but deciding whether you want to make a statement, or to complement the original beauty of the car will guide you...

Cheers,
Duey

Hey Kristian - How's things? Caveat: It's your car and you are putting something together that reflects your taste.....

Having said that - I hate the Bangle Look. I hate anything Bangle. There are a myriad of choices out there for the e34 that bring out the subtle classic lines of the e34. I am partial to the BBS - RS GT as shown here http://members.cardomain.com/johntee540

Because of course *my taste is better than anyone's* <g>

But I think it is totally up to you and your vision for what you want to do for your car. Go to www.tirerack.com and they have a simulator that shows the different types of wheels on your car - e34 - I am thinking the BBS in smoke on the white car would be smokin. - JT
