I going to get some racing pads and have heard good things from Hawk Blues.

http://www.livermoreperformance.com/bmw_brake_pads.html - This is the place I will mostly be purchasing them.

They want about US$300 for the front and rear set. Should I get the blues or another compund or brand of pad. I have no experience in tracking the car. I think my first track expereince will be with stock brakes (not being able to get the track pads in time).

I just bought Pagid blue compound race pads for my 535i to run on the track. Pagid is what BMW Motorsport Race teams use, so I figured they know what to choose. Their alittle pricey, something like $160 a set. I have only used them on the street so far but they bite pretty hard. www.bavauto.com sells them.

I've used CarboTechs and am happy with their braking performance. I get a weekend (2 days) out of a set of pads & they're *totally* gone after that. I've considered Hawks - might try them this year.
