and the man certainly seems credible to me. He made a very good witness and was able to answer all of the partisan questions from the right-wing members of the commission.
Following his couple of hours, the asst. Sec. of State for the current admin. testified. He knew very little of what the commission wanted to know and was not at all a good witness. The commission wanted to have the Internal Security Advisor, Rice, appear, but the White House declined to send her and sent this guy instead. All he could say to the many questions asked, that they wanted to ask Dr. Rice, was that he didn't know anything about it. Perhaps they should have asked him some other questions, but he was there the previous day with the Sec. of State and most of what he knew had already been covered. The commission members wanted to get some specific answers from Dr. Rice, and since she wasn't allowed to come by the administration, they were left without much to delve into.
Quite evasive of the Bush admin. to keep the commission from questioning Dr. Rice. What do they have to hide, is what I want to know?Originally Posted by Bill R.
comission again to talk in private, she still won't go under oath in public though...She claims that due to the separation of powers its not done, even though there are precedents that show it is done..
Interesting that this administration has had a number of devoted republicans who have served multiple administrations come forward with damning allegations, I can't recall any in history who have had this many of their own , if it was a bunch of us whining liberals I could understand but when its your own guys then you'd think people would situp and take notice...and perhaps ask themselves a few questions.

been registered as a republican in the last election, and voted that way. It isn't a requirement that White House advisors be of the same party as the administration, so I assumed that he was a democrat. However, as he first served under Reagan and then Bush #1, it seems as if he might have been a republican all along.

I can't believe he (or his writers in this case) could ever dream it would actually be "funny" to poke fun at himself over WMD's. I bet the families of the 500+ that we've lost in Iraq didn't see the humor in it at all. Neither did I.
Looking forward to Nov.

From their expressions, you might get the idea these two aren't exactly on the same page. Either that, or she is beginning to realize that light at the end of the tunnel is a freight train headed her way, and he is still just fansinated by the "bright shinny object".
