Just installed the new pump, tstat, hoses, etc. 5 hours not including time to go get shroud rivets and a radiator drain plug at the stealer. I had never done a 540 before so... fine until you get to the vibration damper. Otherwise I used a beefier gasket and some hylomar and it sealed up real nice. Hoses went right on. Not sure if the multi-belt is tight enough even though I have the adjuster all the way over. Maybe the little shock? I drove it and it seems fine although I figured I'd feel it in the power steering if it was a problem.
The old (and far superior metal impeller version) was totally shot around the seal and bearing. It leaked out this nasty, rusty substance from the shaft that stained my garage floor. Impeller looked good though.
