Default It's 4 degrees outside and I killed my battery, now it buzzes

I have not driven my 535 for over a week, while it's snowed, and while I was in Florida, it's 4 degrees out now, I get in the car and absolutely nothing. I noticed I left my radar detector plugged in, so I drained my battery completely in the sub freezing weather. CRAP. I just now plugged in the battery charger, on the 2 amp setting only, and within 2 minutes, I hear a kinda loud buzzing sound seemingly from under the rear seat. I know the battery is there, but I don't ever remember hearing a buzzing sound out of that area when charging. Ussually the charger itself would buzz a little, but thats it. Is this thing going to blow up on me!!!!! Anyone know if that sound is good, or bad?

id chime in but i haven't had to maintain a car in a icebox state, everybody's idea of snow around here is the once every 5 years sleet that don't stick to anything but cars, a couple years ago we had our once every 15 year 3" of real snow, and it stuck, most of the interstates around here are raised and were ice encrusted, no removal machinery and our crappy drivers made for fun (jeez they can't even handle rain, and it rains a lot here). almost 20 years ago we spent a couple years in up state newyork, that was snow (then floods)

he said 2 amps, any lower then that and you'd need a trickle charger or motorcycle/lawnmower charger

Default Believe it or not, I dropped it down to .2 amp, & still noise

I did drop the charger down to .2 amp and the noise was still just as loud. I disconnected it, and the noise stopped. I reconnected it, set it to 2 amp, and went back inside, too cold. There was no noise at that time, but I ran inside pretty fast. I went back out briefly, about 5 minutes later, and the buzz is back!

I vote for a roll start in the AM. Just have Scott over to help push the 5 on top of a snow drift. Then let her rip down the hilland pop the clutch. Chargers are for pretty boys

    Best,

Maybe the buzz is just coming from my head, after all it is very cold. But if Scott comes over, the beer we drink is liable to just increase the volume of the buzz!

The buzzing has stopped, the interior light lights again, and the charging process seems to be normal. I'll try to start it in the morn. It's only on 2 amp charge.

Hopefully the battery is not completely cashed, and it still hold a charge. But I doubt it, after all, the radar detector has been draining it for over a week in this cold weather.
