I have recently purchased a 1990 e34 535i (5 speed). Nice car so far. However, the right turn signal does not work with either the hazard light button or the turn signal stalk. Nothing happens, no indicator light inside and no lights front or rear at the corners.
I do not think it is a switch since it does not work with the hazard light switch either.
Could it be a relay or a fuse? Do you have any other thoughts on what it could be or how to fix it?
Thanks

Not trying to sound obnoxious but did you check to make sure that there is a bulb installed? If there is, I would guess a fuse, but I do not recall what else runs off the circuit but it will tell you on the fuse box. I would start there and see what happens. Also, a new bulb might help even if the current one "appears" fine, and you can always switch from the drivers side to test.Originally Posted by ccrawford

Thanks Rory,
The bulbs work because when I first got the car the turn signal worked and all bulbs illuminated. Front back and the indicator inside. Now none of them do? And they do not come on with either the hazard switch or the stalk on the column?
If one buld is out or loose would they all not work? Inside indicator included?
Nah, that should not be a problem. Have you checked fuses 3 and 6? Cleaned the contacts or replaced as a precaution? There should be a relay in the engine compartment to handle this. Do you have a friend with an E34 that you can swap relays with?Originally Posted by ccrawford
