the attachments .ZIP, .EXE, or .PIF. Please delete these as they are viruses. Also, I heard on the news this morning that if you get an e-mail with subject Mail Delivery Services or System please delete this too.
says that the virii now in circulation are more sinister than first expected....IE they have keystroke logging capabilities. guess i gots to renew my norton subscription now...
This year should be a fun one for viruses according to a couple of journals I read. Spend that 14.95 or so and renew NAV.
We aren't seeing many of these in email since we beefed up the mailservers, they check for spam and viruses before going to another box to check for viruses.
Ryan, I'm thinking of putting up a "Wall of Shame" for those who open this stuff on their home PCs...I tell the users that if you think you HAVE to open the stuff up despite being told not to please do it at home. One inDUHvidual has actually done it. I guess Common Sense 101 isn't part of the Wake MBA program.![]()
waste of money....go to Stinger's website and download the latest Stinger
anti virus. They update the software regularly and its free. You just manually have to load it which only takes a minute once in a while...reloads over existing program file when updating/downloading off the web. They just came out with an updated version which presume encompasses the latest virii out there.
HTH,
George...just ran Stinger
Wouldn't mind finding some of the som'bitches writing all the virii. Sorry, sorry behavior, unless the anti virii industry is supporting it, then it would be capitalism at work.
erased due to slander
couldn't agree more about the people who write these virii (sounds silly but maybe correct plural tense :-))
Funny stuff what you wrote about capitalism at work...hehe...could be I guess. How warped and talented at the same time one must be to write
these programs to corrupt computers worldwide...remarkable.
George
can of worms, viruses is adopted in Webster's New World Dictionary version whereas virii is not. The scientific community, however, HAS always had their own lingo. But who am I to talk when I'm part of the bourgeoisie :o). This is way I didn't major in inglesh.

I like NAV, I've used SAVCE for several years and it's never let us down. Easy to maintain when you have 170+/- user bent on making your life total hell.
a can of worms?...virii?...are they not the same?
I thought you were a member of the proletariat...not the bourgeoisie
TB :-)
Virii did seem funny...glad you set the record straight...how about those
f#cking viruses then?
Cheers,
George
We haven't had anything here get infected since 1999. At the time we were using Command Antivirus...it was ok, but sometimes you had to upgrade the installation along with the .exe, which was a pain.Originally Posted by George M
I love virii, it's extra income.I made 3 car payments last year when a client (who didn't want to install AV software because it "slowed their computers down") became infected and needed help on a Sunday evening.
