1. Heater Core
2. OBC bulbs
3. Shifter Bulb
4. R&R Shifter
5. Microfilter

The core is $200 and labor is $150, is this okay?

all america wants is cold beer warm pussy and a place to take a shit with a door on it
Do you suggest anything else for me to take care of (list in original post) while the mechanic is in there? Also is he charging a fair price(also in original post)?
You got someone to do a heatercore replacement for $150 labor...Is he working for $20 an hour!! Thats a great deal if he knows what he is doing.
Joe
Yep he's done several over the past couple of months already. He's an independent tech, and used to work at the local dealer until he opened his own shop. I've been going to him for about 3 years now...
His prices are very low, and he does an excellent job. I've never had a problem w/ any of his work.
Where are you? I gotta do mine, waiting till warm weather maybe, but for $150 chit ya!
I don't have the link handy, but someone else might be able to provide it. If not, I'll post it later. Anyway, on this website you will find wonderfully detailed instructions (incl. pics) on heater core replacement. You want to know if there is anything else??? I recall reading the author's horror story which indicates that he missed a small crack in the inlet tubes (made out of plastic) to the heater core. Ouch.... However, his error was not a total waste (at least for the rest of us) cause he discovered an easier method to access the heater core. I think you'll find the info interesting and helpful. You probably should replace the plastic part and any gaskets or o-rings while you got her open.
This might help:

Yep, the tech said that he's going to be replacing some "plastic tubes" in the process. Does anybody have the link?
