Different Type of Forum Views?

It seems like I'm getting two different types of forum views (random when I open the forum) and I can't figure out how to switch between the two. One view shows the main topic and then all of the responses in sort of a sub-folder kind of layout. The other view just shows the main thread title and if you hover over the thread title a popup shows part of the message body. This view alos shows you the number of views and replys to the main thread. What is the deal with thes two views. I've looked everywhere on the site to figure out how to configure this, and I can't find any info. Any ideas? m I the only one?

go to "User CP" and then "Options"
Threaded and Hybrid will do the subfolder thing
Linear will have just the topic title with a link for all the replies.
