Chris, you shouldnt mix different oils (difft wts of synthetics OR dino oil), seperation will happen as the car sits and settles...all I know Is I got my ass chewed about mixing a couple years back and they made very logical sence in doing it.

Jeff, I had no idea this would be a problem. I figured that they are both full synthetics by the same maker and it wouldn't be a problem, especially when they state their synthetic can mix with Dino oils OK. I had a couple Qt's of the yellow cap that I use to lube my metal lathe, figured I'd use one so I don't have to crack another 5 Qt jug.Originally Posted by 632 Regal

For those that voted 15w50... trading off cold starts at 15 for 50 at operating? Hmmm... is that high upper range worth it?
