use a small screwdriver and tap or push the clip towards the end of the struts, it will leave just enough room to slide them off. Try not to break them in case you need to use them when you break the new ones
My hood is not staying up like it should any longer so I need to replcae the struts. I notice each strut has a clip that locks it in place. It is not obvious to me how thoes come off so the strut can be removed. I know it is probably simple and I am just missing something.
Can nayone help?

Use the old ones from the trunk, they work on the bonnet usually quite fine
