I need some late night advice guys.

I dropped the oil pan to check on the pump bolts on my m60, they were all good.

But i noticed there was a huge ammount of slack in the chain, and i'd like to take it out.

According to bently, there is some spacer nut to the front left (if you face the sproket) that you just turn. I'm 99% sure i see the spacer they're talking about. its where one of the bolts (not nuts) mounts the pump to the engine.

So do i need to loose the BOLT that is fastened to that "spacer" before i try and turn it or can i just "adjust" while everything is tight? the spacer is pretty "high" up there and i don't really see anyway to fit a wrench in there to actually put any force on it and tighten up the chain. I know i heard Jeff mention adjusting the tension on his in a post a few days ago, any advice?

Also - i'm trying to remove the sprocket in an attempt to make all of this easier, except it won't budge, not for anything. the bently says its normal threads on the M60, am i just weak?
