The thread title is a favorite expression of locals.
I took off work today to do some errands and to go into to talk to the body restoration guy at the Indy about my paint chips and scratches. I know better than to go anywhere without calling first.
Called at 9am. Was told "Surf's up and Robbie is not here. We will call you." It's 1pm and just got the call. Life is tough here in paradise.
Pancake--are you counting the days yet?
Mike--are you working today or do you have the surf flu? Are you sure you don't want to come to our SD mini meet and surf Swami's?
Gayle...that is no fare that is like waving a Thong Bikin in front of my face while I am stuck here at work!
I know that area all to well...now be good and have a cold beer or two for me

Gayle (and other SoCal residents), have you ever taken the Ortega Hwy to task with the Bimmer? I learned to ride my first motorcycle like a demon on that road. Lots of fun and one of my favorite drives anywhere, it has to be right up there along with the Berchtesgaden area, near the Germany/Austria border.

I have riden Ortega hundreds of times on my Ducati...not good for the E34 as too much traffic.
I am a big fan of Angles Crest Highway for both the DUC & the E34.
It is 29 miles of haul ass mountain road from the bottom to Newcomb's Ranch( resturant /bar/ our hang out)...we do it in about 17-18 min on motorcycles a litte over 20 in the E34
this is an amazing road considering it very close to civilization!
here is a photo looking towards downtown L.A ( you can barley see the tops of the buildings) I took with a disposable Fuji camera on Jan 7th 2004 at 7:04 am 28 degrees. We had just come out of dense fog for 5 miles to the most unreal morning I had to pull over and take this photo...follow the yellow ribbon
south australia is so dull this time of year ... most of the year actually..
