I saw the Z1 on eBay too. I gotta ask "why would you design doors like that anyway" Yes, it is a BMW but I can't say I'm impressed.
There's a good article in the April 2006 "Performance BMW" magazine on an M1owned by Frank Fahey in San Diego. It's a street-legal racing car. He even runs slicks on it-16 sets per year from memory. I doubt he'd be selling it for $20-odd thousand. BMW only made just over 400 of them to qualify for racing it so it's got to be a damn good investment if you had the spare cash. I be in there like a rat up a drainpipe if I could afford it. It may well be the only M1 in Oz. Let me know if you know others. Can you imagine turning up to your club's "show-and-shine" in it?
