This is very cool!!
I just heard that this new site www.bmwtoolkit.com has tons of stuff. I was just looking through it. Not only does it have a free ETK like Realoem.com but it will cross match it for you if you click on the item like tell you what other cars that part came from or will go to and fit.

Hmm....I like the integration of part # cross reference -- much easier than the realoem ETK and the flow is a bit more like the actual ETK.
Good info, Erich -- thanks!

I like how it will cross-reference the part numbers, giving you all of the models the part was used on. Very handy for Ebaying.

just an FYI...RealOEM.Com has a link that will cross reference part numbers too. So just in case you're on either site...you can cross reference part numbers. Just click on the link at the bottom of the HOME page (indicated by the red arrows in image below) and type in the 11 digit BMW part number.
For example, if you're interested in the electro-chromatic review mirror ... (BMW part # 51 16 8 238 066) ... you can input that part number and find that mirror will work in all of these BMW models: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....8066&showus=on ...from there you can click the link for each model to get more detail.
